BSNL Broadband – Truly Amazing experience

After I disconnected Airtel Broadband Services, I decided to go ahead with BSNL Broadband (BB) though I was not completely convinced on service quality part….i searched their website for BB plans and was quite impressed with complete details corresponding to each postpaid plan on their website…

I finalized BBG FN Combo 600 as it is one of their best selling plan for home use…Key advantages are upto 2 Mbps speed, 250 Local + National Mins free, 2.5 GB usage free per month,  unlimited free usage from 12 AM to 8 AM & Last but not the least, most imp among all “BSNL Postpaid Landline bill is accepted as valid Address proof by Govt. Establishments including Passport office” thus fulfilling all my requirements from BB connection…I was quite astonished to see, an online link for New Connection Application…I filled the same Half-Heartedly as I was thinking, in Govt Organization who will take pain to go through the requests received and follow up for same..Since it was Monday so I thought if someone will call, its fine else on Saturday i will visit the exchange to fill application for new BB connection..The link for online application is

To my utter surprise, next day I received call from BSNL Exchange for my apartment complex…The person on other side re-confirmed my details as filled by me online and offered me to select right plan..i told him that I will go ahead with Combo 600 plan only…He told me to visit xchange on Saturday along with 1 Photo, Address Proof and Identity Proof…

On Friday, BSNL Executive again called me to re-confirm whether I will be coming on Saturday or not, I was about to fell from my chair as i never expected this from BSNL…On Saturday i visited BSNL exchange, I filled 1 form & paid 600 Rs as 1 Month Rental Deposit by cash to him…BSNL executive also informed me that under special offer my installation charges of 500 Rs is waived off and also for 1st 3 months,  I will also get additional 150 free Mins on landline besides 250 Mins bundled with plan. He promised me that by coming Wednesday, my connection will be installed. I was completely delighted with their approach.

On Tuesday evening, I received call from installation engineer and he informed that he will be coming next day at 3 PM for installation…Next day, my BB connection and landline was installed…I provided my own Modem and Landline instrument for installation..You can also avail the same from BSNL by either paying rent or outright purchase..I preferred my own instruments as I preferred specific models to be installed..

Now next big question why we install BB connection, Answer is to get good speed..Now coming to speed part…I opted for upto 2 Mbps plan from BSNL and at any given point from 9 AM to 11:30 PM, I get download speed of 1 Mbps whereas in Airtel under similar plan I was getting 100 Kbps i.e. BSNL BB provide 10 times more speed and from 11:30 PM to 9 AM, I get 2 Mbps speed..Yes, no typo error its 2 Mbps speed….

I am so delighted that now i am planning to buy BSNL Mobile connection….Truly the BSNL has come long way, in terms of service parameters and they only need to manage customer’s perception of being “poor service provider” but  according to me “BSNL is the BEST”.

Hi Nitin,
I too have applied for a BSNL BB connection, and it’s in the installation process. My experience so far has been similar to yours. It is a refreshing change for BSNL who have shed their sarkari office image, and are focused on customer service and satisfaction more than ever before. The representatives I’ve been interacting with are more knowledgeable, courteous and professional. If BSNL continues with this, they’re going to beat every other competitor in this business.

hi sir.i also agree with your opinion that bsnl service is far better than the past and competetive with other private brands.moreover the plans are flexible and ecnomical.there is a new plan which is called rural 499 which provides unlimited internet access at 499 which includes the monthly phone rent of 150.but this is only to rural areas.if u are an governmont employee of state or central then u get 20% deduction.thus we need to pay only 400 for this unlimited usage….

I agree, BSNL has user friendly plans depending on the requirement of end user. BSNL just need to change its perception of Govt Organization otherwise it provide best service.

i took a broadband connection this month and applied for the 950 unlimted plan which stated that it gives 4mbps bandwidth speed ……….but when i checked mine i only gt 1.7mbps speed and my download speed was just 220kbps…whearas my frnd uses 800 plan which states 1mbps and he is geting 200 kbps download speed…………plz help me out with dis>>>>>>

As i mentioned in other post on Airtel broadband services that as a thumb rule min speed of 1/8th of the plan speed is committed because 1 dedicated line is divided into 8 connections so if all users are using simultaneously then your speed will be divided into 1/8th. With 4 Mbps plan, speed of 1.7Mbps is very good.

Download speed also depend on your modem and PC/Laptop configuration. It seems your bit loss ratio is high during download. Check all the connections for any loose connection, if you have firewall installed on your PC then it will reduce the download speed drastically or download speed also depend from you are downloading. If you are downloading from any torrent site then it depend on no of seeders or if you are downloading from Microsoft server then speed will be high.

Download speed is subjective but if your browsing speed is 1.7Mbps then there is no issue in your broadband connection.

Agar bhagvan ne iss duniya me sabse ghatiya cheej ko jinda rakha hai to vo hai BSNL ka internet network, bas bhagvan bharose hi chalta hai.
Mere office me ek manine ke liye hamne BSNL ka network use kiya tha – sabse ganda experience raha
1. 30 din me se 5 din internet chala !
2. Jab net down hoga to customer care me kabhi phone nahi lagega
3. Line man DP Saini afternoon me sone chala jata hai
Na inhe plan ka pata hai na inke pass support hai, pata nahi kis base pe ye customers se network lene ki apeal karte hgai ????
Inke pass kitna bada network base aur saste spectrum hai but kio matlab nahi —

Sach to ye hai ki iss department ka ek bhi employer kaam karna hi nahi chahta — inhe bas harji ke signature aur salary se matlab hai !!!

mat lena !!!! galti se bhi mat lena !!! lene ka kabhi sochna bhi mat !!!!

its past 17 days and still BSNL has not installed the broadband for me.
FUCK BSNL customer care. they say they are not concerned.
why the fuck is customer care for then.
NEVER take BSNL. These government organisations never change.

BSNL has now aimed for profits. Withour user intimation, they changed all plan speeds, and now have to pay HUGE amounts for a relatively small plan. They now take money as if it is a 3g or 4g network….. WHY is this? Hate BSNL for this ‘Profit and bucks’ oriented plans. Whay the hell did they do that???? Before my plan was 2Mbps till 15 GB, then 512Kbps (note the small ‘b’ not capital K’B’ps). Now, 512Kbps flat? I don’t even get 1/10th of that. And seriously? that speed is good for nothing… Anything… Hell to them…..

All bakwas. I have taken 675 combo plan one month back. Experience is very bad.Connectivity is very very poor and unstable. Most of the time I cannot get the connection. When connected, speed is 50-55 kbps against 512 kbps as promised. I am thinking to surrender.

BSNL is bunch of thugs …….for last 5 months i have been using 999 plans Experience is so so bad that even at morning 5 am i am getting bandwidth of only 409 kbps…. i have been complaining about this regularly and repeated response from BSNL officials that ” the bandwidth is slow from Back”…. Bhagwan jane BSNL ke pechele side kaun se hai…. Prime Minister talks about digital india…. is this is the digital india BSNL is going to give people of india

I agree with all the negative comments on BSNL. They are the most unprofessional company you can imagine. I applied for their new broadband connection a few weeks ago and it took for ever for them to provision in their backend. We escalated up their management chain and the response was that the folks who were supposed to do the work we all out on training. A bunch of morons. Another thing with BSNL is they sub-contract parts of their service and they dont pay their sub-contractors on time. So the sub-contractors sabotage the service frequently

In my opinion, all broadband providers route in a similar way through undersea cable. As i understand connectivity to Singapore is from Chennai only through undersea cable.

To address your complaint.You may raise online grievance through BSNL Assam website.

I am not a technical person. You may change your broadband connection if you are facing speed issues.

One of the worst services, can’t get connection for five continuous minutes. Have complained every alternate day for last three months, with no solution provided. I am wondering if they have the ability to even understand the problem. On top of it, the person sitting in BSNL exchange office has the gall to say in absence of problems, what will happen to our department. Means, to sustain their department, we need to suffer poor quality of services.

BSNL do not offer any “SPECIAL” privilege to SENIOR CITIZENS and/ or for consumers foolishly maintaining LAND LINES for over 30 years, uninterrupted.

BSNL also do not allow TWO SEPARATE MODEMS, one for metro cities & the other for RURAL CONNECTIONS under the same single account and for the same consumer, ie for the consumers maintaining/paying for TWO lines, one at the Metros & the other in their RURAL HOMES.

Can be truly regarded as the “King of Worst”.Only speaks but no action,keeps on increasing cost and degrading speed.BSNL should learn from other isps like Alliance,S-Net (W.B state areas) they give full unlimited at 750 and I pay Rs 850 and whats that? A 4gb 120kbps speed and after that 40-70 kbps max.Shit BSNL go to hell!

BSNL is the a worst Broad Band service. IF you want to waste you money as well as your time.Because in Bsnl office no one cal help you also they won’t help you just give argument. no one take responsibility to sort the customer problem..

Also refund polity is very bad it’s take also 10 month…in my case.

worst service…. too much costly compared to the speed… in assam

BSNL route the connection via Chennai which makes the ping 270+ within India…

after paying 1000Rs per month ,what you get is 60-70 KBPS download speed ..
I mainly play online games… but with this connection its unplayable lots of packet losses and high ping… the game server is located in Singapore, but BSNL routes my connection via Chennai which makes the ping 260-275 within India

then it again routes in reverse direction to Hong Kong then some other servers after that it reaches Singapore…

and not to mention BSNL has worst customer service… it takes them 1week + to fix a broken telephone line after receiving the complaint.. And after fixing the line again breaks within 3-4 weeks … I have no idea how they fix it…

i have taken 999 rs per month the speed comes 200kbps something instead of more than 4mbbs and after 8gb it reach down to 20 to 40 kbps instead of more than 500kbps

I am vivek,I am using our BSNL since 9months ago.
I have using 945combo plan for broadband.sir I want to tell you according
to these or any plan of our bsnl, BSNL give us, eg. in my plan 8GB FUP limit of highspeed 2Mbps use and then flat 512kbps speed for use unlimited.Sir I want plan that gives me constant atleast 1Mbps / 2Mbps / 4Mbps speed constant for unlimited use. because sir I am Computer Engineering student and I must have all completed my projects need internet for getting data,resources from world.(1)sir so many times I crossed 8GB limit within 5/7/10 days & then got 512kbps speed but sir i cant access with this speed my important sites of engineerng because the sites are well moderned so it requires more speed to open,navigate them.(2)If you tell me get highest plan of FUP limit but when FUP limit crossed it give 512kbps speed so sir I need plan that gives me flat constant speed of atleast 1Mbps speed so i can easily access my required sites.

REQUEST (1)sir BSNL currently give flat 512kbps plan.I want make BSNL plan like flat 1Mbps/2Mbps/4Mbps/**Mbps flat constant speed,no FUP limit for plan,& plan must be unlimited(2)Price for plans like that – (a)flat 1Mbps unlimited-Rs.800-1000
(b)flat 2Mbps unlimited-Rs.900-1100(c)flat 4Mbps unlimited-Rs.1000-1200 & so on..
(c) simply I want 1/2/4/8/16/24 Mbps flat speed for unlimited use plan

I am Muthu i am using BSNl Broad band with FTTH-BB-COMBO-UL-900-10%W-MONTHLY plan. i have started since june 28 th onwards. i have no complaint with Broad band speed since last two month my land line connectivity is so poor. every 10 to 15 sec call automatically disconnected after several discussion with customer care no one has come yet and solve the issue. i am really fed up with phone connectivity pls guide me to whom i have to contact to solve this issue?

You can escalate complaint to higher authorities and if no action then write to CMD of BSNL. It will be definitely addressed.
